Nick Gibney is a writer, visual artist, and animator. He also serves as the Director of Graphics and Animation for Jigsaw Productions, an award winning documentary production company in New York City. But if you asked him to describe himself in one word, he’d say he was a storyteller.
Gibney's animation has been featured in several festivals around the world, including Sundance, Tribeca, South by Southwest, Boston Underground Film Festival, Black Maria Film Festival (winning Jury's Choice Award for his film Matilda & Joe), and the NYC Downtown Short Film Festival (winning Best Animation Award for his film Coyotes). As the Director of Graphics and Animation at Jigsaw Productions, his work has been featured in a number of award winning projects like the documentary films Rolling Stone: Stories from the Edge, No Stone Unturned, ElÍan, Steve Jobs: Man in the Machine and Zero Days, for which his design work was nominated for the Cinema Eye Honors. His behind-the-scenes storyboard work can also be found in documentaries like Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief, Gonzo: The Life and Work of Hunter S. Thompson, and Magic Trip: Ken Kesey's Search for a Kool Place.
